Experience
I am a highly experienced teacher with National Board Certification who has worked with students ranging from grades K through 12 for 23 years. I have taught a broad variety of subjects that include reading, writing, literature, phonics, social studies, and science. I also have experience teaching drama, speech, music, sewing, and art. As a mother of a dyslexic child, I personally specialize in the Wilson teaching method to facilitate learning for children who have difficulties with reading. However, I employ various teaching techniques to optimize successful learning and help each student get the most out of every lesson. I have worked with students in groups, as well as on an individual basis, as both a classroom teacher and tutor. It is my belief that each student has the capacity to achieve academic success with the right education, and I am always ready to incorporate new methods to improve my teaching style. On a personal note, I enjoy reading and writing. My other hobbies include gardening, sewing, and crocheting.
